How Long is a Tour?

Typically our Arches National Park tour is 3.5 – 4 hours, and our Canyonlands National Park tour is 4.5 – 5 hours. Our Moab’s National Parks Tour which is a combination of our two national parks, typically last 7-8 hours. 

All times include picking up and dropping off passengers, though based on the group sizes we may adjust pickup times to help accommodate more time in the parks.

How much is a tour?

All pricing for tours is dependent upon if the tour is private to your group, or publicly scheduled. Please click here to view current pricing.

If your group size is larger than 8, please contact us regarding a private tour for your group.

Do you provide private tours?

Absolutely we do.

Currently our Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park tours are private, in that you are booking solely for your group.

Only are Moab National Parks Tour (a combo tour) is a small group (8) shared tour.

If you want to design a customized private tour, where you choose the destinations, the time on tour, and the tour start time, consider requesting a private customized tour.

What is included in the fees?

  • Pick-up and Drop-Off service from several locations in downtown Moab.
  • National Park Entry Fee.
  • Professional Guide with an informative tour.
  • Park Map.
  • Lunch if applicable*

Gratuity for your driver is not included in the fee.

*Lunch is provided on full-day tours only.

What is the tour vehicle?

Most tours will be utilizing our fleet of Ford Mid Roof Transit Passenger vans, with extra large windows to take in all the sites.

For any private tour, the option to upgrade to a luxury or green vehicle will be provided.

Do you provide food?

The only tour where food is provided is our full-day Moab’s National Parks Tour.

Passengers are allowed to bring their snacks that fit in their bags on the tour.

We will have water available, however, we recommend arriving with your own bottle.

Please note, that there is no smoking, vaping, or consumption of illegal drugs or alcohol in our vehicles at any time. 

Is a reservation needed to enter Arches?

The short answer: no 🙂

Moab Express is a licensed tour company for both Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park, which means we do not need timed entry reservations like every other visitor is required to have.

 

Will there be hiking?

While our tours are designed to be scenic driving tours, we do allow, at certain locations, time for participants to meander the short trails to rock features. The windows area of Arches is a good example.

There are not, however, planned hikes of any significant length.

Prefer a tour with more hiking? Consider requesting a custom private tour.

 

What should we wear and bring?

This is a great question! And truly depends on the time of year. In the summer months (May-August), our temperatures can exceed 100 degrees (f), and the early spring or late fall can encounter temperatures below freezing. Given that, we recommend passengers bring the following with them:

  • Adequate sun protection including.
    • sunglasses
    • sunscreen
    • sun hat or visor
  • Weather-appropriate clothing.
  • Shoes you are comfortable walking on unpaved paths in.
    • Though not required, we find even those who don’t plan to walk around, do end up wanting to a bit.
  • A water bottle.
  • Snacks if needed.
  • Cameras/phones.
  • Gratuity for your driver if inclined.

We will provide a complimentary water bottle as well as a map of the park.

Please note personal drones are not permitted inside national parks. 

Can I bring a drone on the tour?

Personal drones are not currently permitted inside national parks. 

What is the cancellation policy?
Half-Day or Full-Day Tours
A cancellation request 5 or more days before the tour will receive a full refund, minus a 3% fee.
A cancellation request less than 5 days before the tour is nonrefundable.
Multiday Tours
A cancellation request 61+ days before departure will incur a 20% penalty per person.
A cancellation request 46-60 days before departure will incur a 50% penalty per person.
A cancellation request 0-45 days before departure will incur a 100% penalty per person.
